We flew to Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, February 6th. By the time we picked up our rental car, found our rental condo, and set up the rental pack 'n' play, it was after midnight. We got up at 4:30am, put three tired kids in the car, picked up breakfast (and coffee!) at McDonald's and drove 2.5 hours to Cape Kennedy.
Here's what happened next...
We were exhausted, it was 30 degrees Celsius and up until the last minute, we weren't even sure they were going to launch. After hours of waiting, and watching from far away, was it worth it? Absolutely!

That was coooool. but I don't understand why you got up so early in the morning to wait 7 hours. Anyway good movie. when do we get the answer to the photo contest.
Oh, I guess I forgot to make that clear. NASA has rules about when people have to arrive to watch a shuttle launch. You have to be there at least 6 hours before the launch to get into Kennedy.
And the photo was taken in the entry tunnel at the zoo.
That really was cool! I got goosebumps watching that blast of light head skyward. Guess you guys can cross that one off your life's to-do list! Awesome.
Loved the music change when the launch happened - almost brought a tear to my eye (maybe that's hormones?).
Movie Monday is such a great idea, because I'm sure it acts as motivation to edit down all the great footage you guys have.
Your boys are lucky to have parents who video tape everything!
