Here is a list of things you cannot do when you have no electricity.
- cook dinner (although I was considering digging out the camp stove to cook the spaghetti)
- play Wii (WHAT???)
- listen to the radio (for news about why the power is out...duh)
- use the phone (if the only phones in your house are cordless, ironically, they need to be plugged in)
- use a bathroom that does not have a window in it (hard to hold the flashlight)
- laundry or dishes or vacuum, or any sort of cleaning, really (who needs an excuse?)
- open the fridge (my Mom always said...)
- blog, or go on facebook, or check your email, or online shop....AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!
Fortunately for my children, who were completely baffled by the lack of power, you can still play a fully charged Nintendo DS. Disaster averted.

HA! Thank goodness for nintendo DS. You could create a shadow puppet theatre against a blank wall with the flash light though! Kick it old school, man.
I should start telling Nick that the power went out and that's why I didn't get to the dishes, the laundry, any cleaning at all. I wonder how many days in a row I can use that excuse...
What's the deal with the fridge?? Why can't you open it during a power outage? Because you don't want the cold air to escape? But what if I need a cold beverage (aka WINE) to help me thru the trying times of a blackout?? :)
The crappiest thing about when the power goes out is that you have to go around and reset all the clocks. Or when you're watching a thriller and they are just about to reveal the killer and then.....
Well the crappy thing about if the power is out where I live is it could be my fault. haha. I was going to say no music but with I pods no problem. what about heat in the winter. hmmm. the food one is a ral problem.
